Phiman Chaisri Gate, The Grand Palace
Restoration of Phiman Chaisri Gate, The Grand Palace
Preserving Architectural Heritage with Cement-Free Innovation Bel Vedere is honored to have contributed to the preservation of one of Thailand’s most significant historical landmarks. We implemented the MAPEI Mape-Antique system, a 100% cement-free, natural hydraulic lime-based solution specifically engineered for the chemical and mechanical compatibility required by heritage structures.
Structural Integrity & Moisture Management: The restoration began with Mape-Antique Rinzaffo as a bonding and salt-resistant layer. We utilized Mape-Antique Allettamento for masonry repairs and Mape-Antique LC for structural consolidation. The walls were then rendered with Mape-Antique MC, a specialized macroporous mortar designed to eliminate rising damp and salt efflorescence. Artisanal Surface Finishing: To achieve the exquisite, smooth texture required for royal craftsmanship, Mape-Antique FC Civille was applied as a fine skimming coat, ensuring a breathable yet refined surface. The Excellence of Protective Color: The final aesthetic was realized through the Silancolor Plus system. After applying Silancolor Primer Plus, we meticulously painted the gate using Silancolor Paint Plus in five signature shades: Beige, Dark Maroon, Light Maroon, Blue, and White. This silicone resin-based system provides a high water-repellent shield while remaining fully breathable, preventing mold growth and ensuring the vibrant colors endure against UV exposure and humidity. The result is a timeless restoration that honors original architectural traditions while providing world-class durability for future generations.
